Brendan Monahan's practice focuses on complex commercial disputes, including in the areas of securities litigation, contractual disputes, shareholder and oppression litigation, directors and officers liability, bankruptcy and insolvency matters, competition law, and class action proceedings. He regularly appears before all levels of court in Ontario, including the Court of Appeal for Ontario and the Commercial List of the Superior Court of Justice. He has also appeared before the Federal Court of Appeal, the Alberta Court of Appeal, in private arbitrations, and before the Ontario Capital Markets Tribunal and the British Columbia Securities Commission. From 2023 to 2025, Brendan was appointed to the Young Advocates’ Standing Committee of The Advocates’ Society as one of 40 lawyers under 10 years of call across Canada. He is a member of the Canadian Bar Association, the Ontario Bar Association, and the Toronto Lawyers’ Association.
