Ed Babin has practised complex litigation in Canada for over 25 years. He was a senior partner in the highly ranked litigation departments of two prominent Canadian firms before opening his own top-ranked litigation boutique in 2009. Mr. Babin practises in a very broad range of complex legal areas, and has acted for numerous clients in contract, securities, corporate governance, oppression, competition, investment advisor, executive employment, insolvency, consumer, franchise, conspiracy, and fraud-related matters. He has also acted in a number of securities-related class actions and in complex matters involving takeover bids and other change-of-control transactions. In addition to this broad range of experience, Mr. Babin has handled numerous sports-related matters, including on behalf of several National Hockey League Clubs and the Canadian Football League, and on behalf of the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) in the Ben Johnson case. Ed's work also has a public interest dimension. He has acted as counsel in connection with a number of public inquiries and has extensive and varied pro bono experience.
