Frank Sur is a partner in Gowling WLG and past head of the firm’s Corporate Practice Group in Canada. He is also co-head of the Korea Desk, co-head of the Japan Desk, co-head of the China Practice Group for the Calgary office and a member of the Energy, Fintech, and Mining Groups. Frank's practice is focused on M&A, capital markets, fund formation and general corporate commercial matters, with an emphasis in technology (software, blockchain, crypto asset trading platforms, IoT and nanotechnology) and energy (traditional and renewable, including hydrogen, biofuel and solar). He has extensive experience in: M&A of both public and private companies; public offerings, including initial public offerings and private placements; fund formation; listing and exchange compliance matters; corporate governance and general commercial agreements. Frank has represented international clients based in Canada, the US, Korea, China, Japan and the UK in various complex cross-border M&A, strategic partnerships, financings and fund formations. He has been recognized in Chambers Canada,The Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory and The Best Lawyer in Canada and was named in the Thomson Reuters Stand-out Lawyers 2023 and 2024 lists.
