Fraser Malcolm

Fraser provides strategic and practical advice to Canada’s largest companies and foreign investors relating to obtaining expeditious government approvals by the Competition Bureau and under the Investment Canada Act. Fraser brings a long track record of legal and government experience to his client service strategy, enabling him to seamlessly help clients on the most complex matters in many of Canada's key industries including energy, financial services, real estate, beverage alcohol, industrial and consumer products, and telecommunications, to efficiently address their issues and achieve their goals. Fraser advises on all aspects of competition law, including merger review, joint ventures and strategic alliances, criminal and civil investigations, and regulatory compliance matters. Fraser also advises on foreign investment and national security reviews under the Investment Canada Act. Prior to joining Blakes, Fraser held a variety of senior positions with the federal government in Ottawa, including advising the Ministers of Public Safety, International Trade and Fisheries & Oceans, as well as the Leader of the Government in the House of Commons.
