Harinder Basra practises corporate and securities law, with an emphasis on advising public and private companies on mergers and acquisitions, securities offerings, shareholder activism, corporate governance and general corporate matters. His practice focuses on advising domestic and international clients on transactions in the upstream oil and natural gas industry. He provides practical legal advice to a diverse group of clients, from start-ups to multinational dual-listed issuers. His clients include public and private entities, private equity funds and investment banks. His experience in the M&A space includes takeover bids, plans of arrangement and corporate reorganizations. Harinder has also developed an expertise advising issuers and underwriters in a variety of corporate finance matters, including domestic and cross-border initial public offerings, secondary offerings and new issues of equity and debt securities. He also routinely advises clients on regulatory compliance and corporate governance matters. He has been recognized by Lexpert as a leading Energy lawyer in Canada. Harinder is a Trustee of the Calgary Zoo and has previously served on the Leadership Giving Cabinet of the United Way. He is also the Chair of the Student Recruitment Committee in Calgary.
