Jaan's practice embraces a diverse range of litigation: commercial disputes, professional liability, medical malpractice, employment, and administrative law. As co-leader of the firm’s Professional Liability and Regulation group, Jaan has extensive experience acting for both health professionals and regulators. He has acted for physicians and other professionals in a broad range of matters, including in civil actions, regulatory matters, and criminal proceedings. Jaan has also acted as prosecution counsel for several regulated health colleges and the Law Society of Ontario. He has appeared before all levels of court in Ontario, including as lead counsel in the Court of Appeal for Ontario, Divisional Court and the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, as well as in the Supreme Court of Canada.
