Julie Abouchar, BSc (Hons), LLB, BCL, LLM, is a Law Society of Ontario Certified Specialist in Indigenous legal issues and Environmental Law. Julie provides advice and representation to clients about environmental compliance and due diligence, environmental assessment and approvals, environmental prosecutions, and contaminated land remediation. Julie appears before Ontario's Land Tribunal, Energy Board and the Courts. She assists with environmental inspections and investigations and negotiates with regulators. Julie has a substantial Indigenous law practice, negotiating and drafting resource agreements for industry and Indigenous clients, advising on Aboriginal consultation, and facilitating dispute resolution in the mining, infrastructure, and energy sectors. She advises about resource development in Canada’s near and far North. Julie is co-author of Ontario Water Law, published by Canada Law Book. She is selected annually for The Best Lawyers in Canada for environmental law, Aboriginal law, and energy regulatory law.
