Michael is a partner and member of the Management Committee of Thorsteinssons LLP whose practice focuses on corporate and international tax planning, regularly advising multinational groups in a wide range of sectors on a variety of matters, including: inbound and outbound investment/financing; M&A; divestitures; restructurings; and natural resource taxation. Michael is the Editor-in-Chief of the International Tax Planning Journal, is on the editorial board of the CCH Income Tax Act, is a member of the CBA – CPA Joint Committee on Taxation and is a member of the Canadian Tax Foundation, International Fiscal Association and the International Bar Association. Michael is listed in The International Who’s Who of Corporate Tax Lawyers, The International Who’s Who of Business Lawyers, Who’s Who Legal: Canada, the Expert Guide and the Lexpert 2014 Guide to the Leading US/Canada Cross-Border Corporate Lawyers in Canada. On March 13, 2015, Goldcorp completed its $526 million acquisition of Probe Mines Limited by way of a plan of arrangement. Probe’s principal asset is the 100 per cent-owned Borden Gold project located near Chapleau, Ontario.
