Tahoe Resources Completes IPO and Acquires Silver Project in Guatemala

On June 8, 2010, Tahoe Resources Inc. closed its initial public offering of shares in Canada and the acquisition from affiliates of Goldcorp Inc. of the Escobal silver project in Guatemala. It also had its shares listed for trading on the TSX on June 8, 2010. Tahoe raised $383 million from the public offering through a syndicate of underwriters led by GMP Securities L.P. The acquisition cost of the Escobal project was US$505 million which was paid by the issuance to the vendors of an aggregate of 43,686,667 shares of Tahoe, representing 40 per cent of Tahoe's issued and outstanding common shares on a fully diluted basis at closing, and through the payment to the vendors of US$253,329,708 in cash.

Tahoe's corporate and Canadian counsel for the initial public offering of shares by Tahoe, the Escobal acquisition transaction and the listing of Tahoe on the TSX was Lang Michener LLP with a team consisting of Barry Finlayson, Amandeep Sandhu, Charlotte Morganti, Ashley Baker, Lance Bredeson and Alexis Cloutier (corporate and securities) and Peter Botz (tax).
