Peter Rubin is a partner who practises in the area of restructuring and insolvency law at Blake, Cassels & Graydon LLP. Peter’s restructuring and insolvency practice involves advising debtor companies, lenders and lending syndicates, secured and unsecured creditors, purchasers of distressed assets, debtor-in-possession lenders, and other parties affected by business insolvency issues. He has acted as independent counsel for monitors in reorganization cases, receivers and trustees in bankruptcy. In addition to appearing frequently in all levels of Court in British Columbia, Peter has appeared before the Supreme Court of Canada, as well as numerous superior and appellate courts in other provinces. Peter has been lead debtor’s counsel in some of Canada’s largest and most complicated CCAA cases including Carillion Construction (Ontario) and Dominion Diamonds (Alberta). Peter is a member of the Insolvency Institute of Canada and a former elected representative of the Canadian Bar Association for Vancouver.
