A partner and Gowling WLG (Canada) LLP’s General Counsel, Tina Woodside-Shaw has responsibility for the firm’s legal affairs and risk management, including client relationship management, conflicts, governance and compliance matters. One of Canada's leading corporate and securities lawyers, she delivers strategic, pragmatic advice on complex corporate finance, M&A and corporate governance. By coupling her 35 years of legal experience with her hands-on management experience, Tina brings a unique perspective to her clients. Most notably, as national Managing Partner - Internal from 2015-2022, Tina was responsible for overseeing the firm's internal and professional-based strategies, policies and performance, including matters related to the quality of legal services and service delivery. She is a certified director (ICD.D) and has served on the boards of numerous public companies and not-for-profits and is a past member of the OSC’s Securities Advisory Committee. A leader in the areas of securities law, M&A, corporate governance, mining and law firm management, she has been repeatedly recognized in various legal directories and is a Lexpert Zenith Award winner. A champion for equity and inclusion, Tina helped found GROW, Gowling WLG’s network for women professionals.
