David Mousavi commences as new president of Canadian Bar Association In-House Lawyers

NRT Technology Corp. general counsel David Mousavi has commenced as the new president of Canadian Bar Association In-House Lawyers as of September 1.

Mousavi leads the organization for a year-long term alongside vice president Dev Jagdev of Rogers Communications Inc., treasurer Angela Yousofi of TD Bank, and past president Jennifer Freund.

Mousavi has worked with public and private businesses, non-profit organizations, and political leaders for over 10 years. He helped establish a pro bono legal service across Toronto for frontline healthcare workers during the COVID-19 pandemic; moreover, he has sat on non-profit boards in the childcare and seniors care sectors as chair.

CivicAction recognized his community service and human rights advocacy by naming him a Diverse City Fellow; in this capacity, he spearheaded initiatives to improve diversity and inclusion in government programs and services throughout Greater Toronto. He was given the Queen Elizabeth II Ontario Medal for Good Citizenship in 2024.

Mousavi began working with global fintech company NRT Technology Corp. in 2021; in addition to serving as general counsel, he is the company’s senior vice president for legal and compliance. He supervises the company’s data security and privacy functions.

He was previously in an in-house role with the Toronto Real Estate Board. Prior to this, he was a private practitioner.
