Goldblatt Partners LLP partner Clio Godkewitsch joins University Pension Plan as in-house lawyer

Goldblatt Partners LLP has confirmed partner Clio Godkewitsch’s move to University Pension Plan Ontario’s in-house legal team as a lawyer.

Godkewitsch had been with the firm since May 2017, working with the pension law group. Before her tenure with Goldblatt Partners, she spent over 13 years with Koskie Minsky LLP, where she was an associate.

She was an associate with Birenbaum Steinberg Landau Savin & Colraine from 2002 to 2004, per LinkedIn. She has acted for individuals, unions, boards of trustees, and groups of employees and retirees in various tribunals and at all levels of Ontario court.

Godkewitsch once served as secretary on the board of directors of St. Stephen’s Community House from December 2007 to June 2014.

The University Pension Plan Ontario was established on July 1, 2021. Christine Chen serves as general counsel.

Hymers Wilson

Wilson transitions to an in-house role with Goldblatt Partners client LIUNA Local 183. He has worked with the Goldblatt Partners construction labour law group over the past year.

He articled with the firm from August 2023 to June 2024. He was also a student caseworker with Parkdale Community Legal Services from April to December 2022.

Wilson took on several roles with Employment and Social Development Canada, including appeal writer (2019-2020), benefits officer at the Appeals Centre of Excellence (2017-2019), and benefits officer at the processing centre (2015-2017). He was also a field supervisor at Securitas Canada from January to June 2015.

From May 2021 to April 2023, he volunteered in the extrajudicial sanctions committee at BGC Durham.

Wilson obtained his JD in law from Osgoode Hall Law School at York University in 2023 and also holds an honours bachelor of social science degree with a specialization in criminology.

LIUNA Local 183 is a benefits provider based in Vaughan that caters to both active employees and retirees.
