Maxime Ménard has been appointed global president and chief executive officer of Montreal-headquartered Fiera Capital Corporation as of July 1.

He commenced with the company as president and CEO in January 2024. Since then, he has been key to stabilizing operations and uniting the company’s teams.

Fiera Capital said he brings a strong knowledge of the global investment landscape. Before joining Fiera Capital, he was Jarislowsky Fraser’s president and CEO for five years.

“The board has full confidence in Maxime. His experience, sound judgment, and deep understanding of global investment management make him well suited to lead the firm forward,” lead director François Olivier said in a statement.

Fiera Capital founder and executive chair of the board Jean-Guy Desjardins added that Ménard was “the right leader to take Fiera Capital forward.”

“He brings the discipline, integrity, and strategic focus required to execute our vision and strengthen the firm for the long term,” Desjardins said in a statement.

Desjardins will still provide Fiera Capital with strategic oversight, moulding the company’s investment philosophy and guiding global asset allocation across public markets and multi-asset solutions.

“I am honoured to lead Fiera Capital into this new chapter. We have exceptional talent across the organization, deep roots in Canada and a growing global presence. Our focus is clear: execute with discipline, empower our teams and deliver long-term value for our clients and shareholders,” Ménard said.

New leadership roles for Gabriel Castiglio and Lucas Pontillo

Working closely with Ménard will be Gabriel Castiglio, incoming executive director and global chief operating officer, and Lucas Pontillo, executive director and global chief financial officer.

Castiglio is Fiera Capital’s executive director, global chief legal officer, and corporate secretary. He is set to help Ménard bolster the effectiveness and efficiency of the firm's operating model and manage global operations, uniting teams to achieve scalable growth.

He leads the firm’s human resources, legal and compliance, and corporate communications functions and manages the sustainable investment strategy. Previously, he was a partner at Fasken Martineau DuMoulin LLP, concentrating on mergers and acquisitions, securities law and corporate governance.

In addition to his existing responsibilities, Pontillo will head up Fiera Capital’s corporate strategy function. He will collaborate with Ménard to shape the firm’s strategic direction and accelerate strategic execution to improve the firm’s growth position.

Castiglio and Pontillo will work under Ménard effective July 1. They have been on Fiera Capital’s executive team for over five years. According to Fiera Capital, the leadership transition comes after the firm’s shift into a regionally empowered organization over multiple years.
