Singleton Urquhart Reynolds Vogel has added a six-strong team from Nash Johnston LLP to its commercial litigation group.

The team consists of Greg Nash, Brent Johnston, Alex Little, Auke Visser, Dana Duncan, and David Yule. Nash and Johnston have joined the partnership, while Visser, Duncan, and Yule are associates.

Nash has tackled complex civil and commercial disputes throughout a 30-year legal career. He has worked on commercial and insurance matters, class actions, product liability claims, construction-related disputes, professional and municipal liability, defamation, and personal injury defence.

He has been involved in multi-party and multi-jurisdictional proceedings and appeared before all levels of court. His clients have included major insurers, national and international corporations, public bodies, and private entities.

Johnston has handled contractual claims, insurance and occupiers’ liability defense, professional negligence, fraud, and products liability. He has served as co-counsel in complex appeals and protracted trials, such as a 68-day breach of trust action and a 21-day breach of fiduciary duty case.

He has appeared before all levels of British Columbia court, the Ontario Superior Court of Justice and Court of Appeal, Federal Court, and the Yukon Supreme Court.

Little has acted in commercial disputes, environmental matters, insurance litigation, professional negligence, international trade, and defamation claims. He has appeared before the Court of Appeal, the Supreme Court, and the Provincial Court in British Columbia; he has also appeared before the Environmental Appeal Board, and an arbitration tribunal under Chapter 11 of NAFTA.

Visser has tackled commercial litigation, professional liability, product liability, construction defect claims, and occupiers’ liability. He has worked with clients on complex multi-party disputes and strategic litigation; moreover, he has appeared before all levels of court and various administrative tribunals.

Duncan concentrates on insurance and commercial disputes, having handled coverage matters, subrogated recovery actions, and the defence of property damage and personal injury claims like those involving catastrophic physical injuries and sexual abuse cases. She has also worked on matters involving construction law, product liability, professional negligence, class action defence, shareholders’ actions, defamation, creditors’ remedies, and wrongful dismissal claims.

She has worked in civil litigation for over 25 years. She has acted for clients before courts and tribunals.

Yule focuses on commercial and insurance disputes, class actions, product liability, professional negligence, and personal injury claims. He has served as co-counsel for defendants in complex price-fixing and securities-related class actions.
