JX Nippon Oil & Energy Acquires Stake in Xstrata Coal Canada's Metallurical Coal Business

JX Nippon Oil & Energy (Australia) Pty Ltd (“JX Australia”), a subsidiary of JX Nippon Oil and Energy Corporation and its listed parent JX Holdings Inc., paid US$435,000,000.00 in cash to acquire a 25 per cent interest in Xstrata Coal Canada Limited's metallurgical coal business with assets located in the northeastern British Columbia coal region.
