Christopher Steeves is the leader of Fasken Martineau’s global tax practice. Through extensive experience in public and private mergers and acquisitions, restructurings, and private equity investment, Christopher has developed innovative, tax-efficient means of accomplishing clients’ business objectives. He advises clients on the income tax aspects of complex domestic and cross-border financings, and financial instruments including derivatives, securities lending and collective investment funds. Christopher also has expertise with respect to transfer pricing and the successful resolution of disputes with Canadian tax authorities. A frequent speaker at industry conferences and seminars on Canadian and international tax, Christopher is a former instructor of the Faculty of Law at the University of Windsor. Christopher is also co-editor for “Corporate Tax Planning”, a regular feature in the prestigious Canadian Tax Journal published by the Canadian Tax Foundation.
