Susan Hutton is a senior partner in Stikeman Elliott's Competition & Foreign Investment and International Trade Practice Groups. She provides Competition Act and Investment Canada Act advice in respect of complex mergers and acquisitions, guides clients through civil and criminal investigations and complaints under the Competition Act and provides ongoing competition and anti-corruption compliance advice. She has particular expertise in complex merger reviews, as well as net benefit and national security reviews under the ICA. She also represents clients in dumping and subsidy cases with the CBSA and the CITT. Global Competition Review has noted Ms. Hutton as "among the most talented and well-regarded in the country". She is also recognized for her expertise in competition and antitrust law by Chambers Global: The World's Leading Lawyers for Business and Chambers Canada, Legal 500 Canada, and The Best Lawyers in Canada. Susan is a past-Chair of the Competition Law Section of the CBA and past Chair of the Editorial Board of the Canadian Competition Law Review, she is a Vice-Chair of the International Committee of the ABA Section of Antitrust Law and a member of the C.D. Howe Institute’s Competition Policy Council. She publishes and speaks frequently in her fields.
