iCON Infrastructure secures financing for acquisition of QSL International

In mid-2024, iCON Infrastructure completed the financing of its acquisition of QSL International Ltd., a prominent port terminal and logistics operator headquartered in Quebec, Canada, with operations spanning Canada and the United States. iCON Infrastructure, a long-term investor specializing in infrastructure businesses across Europe and North America, spearheaded the acquisition to expand its North American footprint.

Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt LLP acted for iCON Infrastructure, with a team led by Chris Bennett and Marta Rochkin, along with various Osler lawyers across multiple practice areas, to complete the transaction.

Other firms involved in the transaction included Blake, Cassels & Graydon LLP, which served as counsel to the lenders with a team featuring John Wilkin and Konnor Imai; McCarthy Tétrault LLP, which represented the vendor with a team that included Patrick Shea and Lucie Tedesco; and Norton Rose Fulbright LLP, which acted as counsel to CDPQ (a minority investor), led by Éric Bédard and Jennifer Babin.

The transaction further strengthens iCON’s position in the North American infrastructure sector and underscores the importance of strategic legal guidance in complex cross-border deals.
